Coast-to-Coast

Location: Auckland

Date: 8th June 2025

With everyone busy with the end of the semester, we decided to take a communal approach to our trip report. A few trampers wrote a couple sentences about their experience that we compiled together.

"I really enjoyed seeing how the city changes from the harbour all the way to the bay — it was such a cool way to explore Auckland from coast to coast on foot. The mix of parks, volcanic cones, and neighbourhoods made it feel like a proper adventure even in the middle of the city. Also, finishing at Onehunga felt super rewarding!" - Vicky Hanggara

"It was nice to explore the city and see how different areas aren’t all that far away from each other when you’re on foot. Favorite part was One Tree Hill and the ice cream stop along the way! Super fun and a nice way to meet new people." - Calina Whitney

At the Wintergardens. Taken by a woman from another group who was ALSO doing the coast-to-coast. What a coincidence!

"It was my first urban tramp, really loved the vibes! Fun group with a lot of internationals! Really shows some of the places you have to visit in Auckland." - Jonah Dokman

"This was my first tramp with the club and I had a great time. It's been a long time since I had last visited Mt Eden and One Tree Hill so it was great visit them again." - Spencer Reinsfield

“I still can't believe that our very chatty group talked for the whole five hours! And it was almost magical weather we were blessed with... considering what came before and after. Was so worth the long bus ride home from Onehunga on a Sunday.” -Teianna Chenkovich
