Notice of SGM - General Members Needed!

Hey there Trampers!

Gosh... it's been a busy first semester already! I hope you've all had the chance to get out and enjoy some good bush time. :-) We've had some awesome events going out, and it's been great to meet you all.

What I want from you guys now is for heaps of you lovely people to write trip reports and post them to the website, along with your photos! It would be great if we could get trip reports from Orientation, Wine and Cheese Evening, and Bush School (plus aany other trips you've done). These will almsot certainly end up being published in Footprints, so this is your chance for fame (relatively speaking) and fortune (negligible). We'll also be implementing a photo of the week competition, and an 'epic tramper' forum, where you can nominate people as 'tramper of the month' for all the cool things they've been doing.

On to the serious part: WE NEED YOU! We're currently looking for one or two people to join the committee as general members. General members sit on the committee, attend meetings, and are responsible for small portfolios. Basically, it's a good way for people to get involved in the committee process without getting thrown in at the deep end. Ideally, we're looking for people in their first year of uni, so that we have time to train them up and get them into bigger committee roles next year. This doesn't mean that older members can't apply though - just as long as you're going to be sticking around the club for awhile. If this sounds like you, then please, email me! I'd love to hear from you. General Members will be elected at a Special General Meeting during the Trips Launch next Tuesday (30th). Trips Launch starts at 6.30 pm in Arts 716. If you can't make it to the elections but are still interested in being a general, don't despair! Email me anyway, and we can sort something out. :-)
