AUTC Photo of the Year Competition

We present the AUTC Photo of the Year Competition 2009.

Since it’s the end of year, it's the perfect time to share all the awesome moments you had and all those great tramps that you have been on with everyone. And there are prizes as well!
You may enter any great photos from any tramps or club events from 2009 that contend for the title of:

1. The Best Scenic Photo of the Year: any beautiful scenery that will take your breath away and/or tramps that you would recommend others to add onto their “A must-do before I die” list.
2. The Most Hilarious Photo of the Year: any best crack up moments that give you stomach cramps, and any stories that you would like to tell your grandchildren about.

What so great about entering the competition?

The winning photo of each category will be rewarded with prizes (always a bonus!!). The winning photo and 2 runner ups of “The Best Scenic Photo of the Year” and winning photo of “The Most Hilarious Photo of the Year will be printed in Footprints.(With more photos being printed in it if they are really good!)

This year we are proud to announce that the competition will be judged by Shaun Barnett, one of New Zealand’s foremost tramping authors and photographers. He is author of a number of New Zealand Tramping books, regular contributor to Wilderness magazine and shooting many of the "Tramping in New Zealand" calendars that you see around.

Entry procedure and rules:

1. What we are looking for:

   Any photos taken from tramping trips and AUTC club events in 2009

   (MUST HAVE, please) A title and brief description of where the photo is taken and (if applicable) funny little story hidden behind the scene.

2. Amount of photos that you can submit: Unlimited!
3. How to enter the competition?
   1. Go to www.autc.org.nz and log in
   2. Click on the “Upload photos” link(on the left hand side of the screen)
   3. Submit your photo by uploading it, filling in a title and description. For the gallery either type in “Scenic” or “Hillarious” and wait a moment (the full name will appear below the box for you to select)
   4. Then click “SAVE” and YAY! You are done! GOOD LUCK!
4. IMPORTANT RULES:
   1. We reserve the right to remove any photos deemed unsuitable, or on complaints from other users, without warning. We also reserve the right to suspend website accounts of anyone who posts offensive material, also without warning.
   2. Any person who is the subject of a photo has the right to complain and have photos removed, if the photo has been posted without their consent and the photos portrays them in a bad light or embarrassing situation. Please get the permission of all subjects before posting any photos which fall into this category.
   3. Any entries in this competition constitute agreement to allow any submitted photos to be published in Footprints and for display purposes in any future AUTC events. The owners of the photos will be acknowledged.
   4. JUDGING: The judge’s decisions will be final, and no correspondence other than the photo captions and titles will be considered. We reserve the right to alter the judging panel due to unforeseen circumstances.
5. Valid contact details: Please make sure your email (most importantly!) and your contact phone numbers are valid on your website account, so we will be able to contact you if you become the winner!
6. Deadline for photo submission: October 23rd
7. Winners announced: November 23rd
