The volcanic scoria pancake of Rangitoto is infested with gas blown cave systems, a wild contrast to the rolling green hills of Motutapu Island.

Basic Bush School

Experienced trampers Helen Liley & Matt Lillis will be instructing this year's Basic Bush School in the Southern Waitakere Mountain Ranges on the weekend of March 24th - 25th.

Banff film festival, 24th and 29th of May

NZAC are bringing Banff to Auckland at the end of May. It looks like it is going to be awesome this year so I strongly recommend going! For those of you who aren't familiar Banff is a mountain films festival that is basically just films about the outdoors with everything ranging from climbing to diving, skiing to mountain biking and lots of other crazy stuff in between.

Hillary Trail Run

From Arataki Visitor centre in the East, to Whatipu in the South, the trail takes in every beach along the wild western coast all the way to Muriwai in the north.
