Tuatapere Hump Ridge Track: Stump the Hump

As the summer season gets underway and the winter woollies are cast aside, the Tuatapere Hump Ridge Track is proud to announce the inaugural Stump the Hump – a 24hr non-stop walk of our 55km track. Starting at midnight on 22 January 2011, Stump the Hump challenges participants to experience a day in the life of the Hump Ridge Track and walk all 55km of the track in just 24hrs.

Oxfam Trailwalker, 9th - 10th April 2011

For the last couple of years AUTC has entered teams in an event called the Oxfam Trailwalker. This coming year it takes place on the 9th - 10th of April and we are looking for keen walkers and support crewers to enlist for the AUTC effort!
For those of you who haven't heard of it before, the Trailwalker is a massive event.

Kaimais

I am suffering from acute tramping withdrawal, so am planning to go out to the Kaimais for a bit of fun from the night of Friday December 17th to Sunday December 19th.
Route is as yet undecided but will probably be to Dalys hut, from which we will be based.

Tranquil beech forests, fields of waving tussocks, 2000 metre-high mountains and clear rushing streams are highlights of the journey. This will be a relaxing trip at a cruisey pace. This is Nelson Lakes, which has to be one of the most beautiful National Parks.
