Why tack traverve

Hey fullas and fullettes,

I'm new to the club (brand spankers in fact)and I'm not sure if this is in the right forum but here goes.

I wanna hike the length of the Waitakere Ranges (Goldies to Whatipu/huia area)sometime in the summer months, utilising the tracks (being a rule abiding Kauri lover) and I wanted to garner some ideas from you all. Feels like a multiday trip so any suggestions on:
1. Good places to lay my head on the way
2. Good places to visit (Areas of interest, good views, killa waterfalls and so on)
3. Any tracks you'd recommend including

Other than that, nothing in stone. Keen for companions of course (as I tend to get picked up by the rangers when I talk to myself all day).
